Who am I
I'm a product designer and UX strategist who loves to unravel mental puzzles and tackle challenges. I believe that good design is the most important for those users navigating the interfaces of their daily work, where a change for the better have a profound impact on health and personal happiness.
Aside from design talk, I'd love to talk about Sci-Fi and Fantasy novels, cookbooks, backyard gardening, sourdough bread, parenting, and how I'm a bit too competitive at board games.
Right now I'm a Principal User Experience Designer at Guidewire Software, improving the daily lives of professionals in the insurance industry one product at a time.
In the past I've worked with startups on their first app ideas, government entities to overhaul their internal tools, and large companies on R&D concept projects.
My Strengths
I'm a Product Manager Whisperer. I'm great at taking abstract ideas and functionality-focused musings and facilitating the identification of what that actually means in terms of UI, interactions and information architecture.
I'm a fast learner. I'm able to ramp up quickly on a new project and jump right in. I love to learn all I can about complex subjects, turn it this way and that in my head and try things.
I lift the team. I'm that person on the design team who is always introducing new design methods, tools and processes to communicate better and be more productive. I'm experienced at mentoring junior designers and being that person to bounce ideas off of to make designs better.
I'm the person to facilitate your workshops. I have a good deal of experience planning and moderating design thinking workshops, and it's something I enjoy. I try to understand the subject matter completely so I can ask the right questions, and put together effective exercises and methods to get to the heart of things. I've also turned post-workshop analysis of materials into a finely tuned process for generating insights and identifying next steps.
I'm flexible. I understand design is rarely right the first time and is a team effort with PM, Business and Dev considerations - there is no ego in my design. I am an advocate for the user and fight where necessary, but also bend where it makes sense.
